Meeting in Brussels to promote the future of aquaculture in Europe

The CEO of Kefalonia Fisheries, our subsidiary in Greece, Lara Barazi Geroulanou, in her capacity as President of the Federation of European Aquaculture Producers (FEAP), met in Brussels with the European Union Commissioner for Fisheries and Oceans, Costas Kadis, and his team. The meeting, which was also attended by other FEAP members, discussed the future of European aquaculture and its key role in food security on the continent.



During the meeting, the importance of strengthening competition, fostering innovation and improving the sustainability of the sector was highlighted, as well as the importance of advancing in regulations that promote its development. Aquaculture is one of the most efficient food production systems, and with the right support, it could be consolidated as a sustainable and high-value production model for the European Union.

FEAP reaffirmed its commitment to work closely with the European institutions to ensure a solid and prosperous future for aquaculture.
